Is there such a thing as a 'good' divorce?
One of my friends and professional colleagues, has prompted me to raise the awareness of Collaborative Law and how it offers a really different approach to divorce.
Couples, with the support of specially trained collaborative lawyers and other professionals (life coaches, accountants, independent financial advisers) work together to achieve the best solutions for themselves and their children and minimise the pain of family breakdown, without going to court. The couple set the pace, are in control and maintain contact with each other, giving the best chance to find the right solution.
If you have any friends or colleagues going through or contemplating divorce, please feel free to pass on my details jon.weston@bradshawbennett.co.uk or 01625 562000 and I will be pleased to put them in touch with a collaborative solicitor, an accountant experienced in this area or indeed we could help with the financial settlement, particularly where there are pensions to be shared or other assets to be assigned.
I have been working alongside a number of local solicitors for many years and I think that the collaborative process would suit many couples and avoid a lot of the pain/distress/misunderstandings that are created with the traditional route.
