Maximising the benefits of tax year end planning - dont miss out!

If you would like to meet at any time with Bradshaw Bennett Independent Financial Advisers and your accountants to maximise the benefits of any tax year end planning, please contact us as soon as possible and we will arrange a meeting.

We effectively have only about 5 weeks remaining in which we can help you take full advantage of any tax concessions or allowances (allowing a couple of weeks for implementing any actions) ,so don't delay!

You may want to consider:

  • Income tax planning (avoid paying the higher higher rate tax rates next year by taking income in this year where possible)
  • Capital gains tax planning (crystallise capital gains in 2009/10 to utilise your CGT allowances in the current tax year)
  • Make use of some or all of your tax allowances for
    • ISAs
    • Pensions
    • Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs)
    • etc (where appropriate)
  • Avoid national insurance tax (otherwise known as "national insurance contributions") by making salary sacrifice to pensions where possible
  • Make use of your gift allowances for inheritance tax purposes for 2008/9

Please note that we are authorised to give investment advice and we do understand the broad tax implications of various types of investment, but we are not tax specialists.

If you would like us to liaise with your accountants/tax advisers directly and provide them with full details of your investments, please let us know.
