Planning for Retirement

Most of our business and private clients have good intentions when it comes to planning for retirement for themselves or for their employees. Most have realised that as the population grows older, it will be necessary for us all to make more private provision for income in retirement.

There are many ways to generate capital to provide income in retirement. These might include:

  • Building Society and bank accounts, an inheritance
  • A Company Pension Scheme
  • Individual Savings Accounts (ISAs)
  • Personal Pensions or buying rental properties
  • Unit trusts or investment bonds.

Some of our clients are depending on the sale of their business or the family home, others are looking forward to earning income from consulting work after retiring. In some cases, a Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) might own office premises and continue to deliver rental income in retirement.

These are all perfectly good and legitimate ways to build capital and income for later in life - some enjoy favourable tax treatment, others make use of an individual's particular skills and knowledge.

Fee-based firm of independent financial advisers

Here at Bradshaw Bennett, we are can advise on the most appropriate solutions to help you plan for your or your employees retirement. We are not interested in selling a product - we are a professional, fee-based firm of independent financial advisers and so you will pay us only for the time that we spend working on a solution. This is an area where we believe that commission payments could lead to product bias, so we work with our business and private clients on an hourly rate. (for details of our current charges, please use our contact form or telephone 01625 562000)

Free initial consultation

The first meeting with an independent financial adviser is free of charge - he or she will listen to you, find out as much as possible about your objectives and try to develop a outline plan for your or your employees' retirement. If you then decide that you would like us to help you implement that plan, obviously we will make a charge for the time we spend working with you.

Don't delay this very important decision
